YTT Journey offers a comprehensive 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training that is open to everyone. Whether it is your intention to become a yoga teacher, or if you are mostly interested in deepening your personal practice and learning more about the philosophy of yoga, our great team of teachers is here to support you.

TEACHER TRAINING CURRICULUM
Part 1: Deepening the Student Experience
Techniques, Training and Practice:
Learn key yoga poses (asanas) in each of the 5 categories (standing poses, forward bends, backbends, twists, and inversions) and their benefits
Study modifications (including the use of props) and variations of poses
Explore various breathing (Pranayama) and meditation techniques
Learn to create safe and effective sequences for different levels
Teaching Methodology:
Practice key yoga poses and develop a relationship to both the form and the function of the 5 different categories
Learn the principles of demonstration, observation, assisting and correction
Learn how to keep your class and students safe
Find your own unique voice as a teacher
Refine your communication skills and cueing in order to be clear and inspiring
Explore the business aspects of teaching yoga (including marketing and legal)
Anatomy & Physiology:
Study human anatomy and physiology (bodily systems, organs, etc)
Study energy anatomy and physiology (chakras, nadis, etc)
Apply the principles learned to create a safe yoga practice
Yoga Humanities:
History of yoga
Overview of yoga philosophies and traditional texts
Study of the Eight Limbs of Yoga
Ethics for yoga teachers, such as those involving teacher – student relationships and community
Part 2: Becoming the Teacher
Practicum:
Teach as the lead instructor mini-classes throughout the training
Receive and give feedback
Learn sequencing and staging of classes
Understand how to teach any and all students simultaneously with effective cueing and voice, use of props, and modifications
Assist students while someone else is teaching
Becoming the Teacher:
Understand professional ethics as they relate to teaching yoga
The business of yoga; develop a brand, marketing, advertising, legal, financial
Continuing education, building community
Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive a 200-hour certificate. You may register with Yoga Alliance at the RYT-200 level.
